With Care & Intention

Every experience is guided thoughtfully, with simplicity, calm, and genuine connection at its heart.

The Emberwood Experience

At Emberwood, every session is approached with intention, care, and a deep respect for the moments you are preserving. From your first enquiry through to the delivery of your finished images, the experience is designed to feel calm, guided, and unhurried.

You don’t need to know how to pose, what to wear, or how to prepare; you’ll be gently supported every step of the way. Each session is thoughtfully styled, guided with warmth, and centred on connection rather than perfection.

More than simply photographs, your images are created as heirloom keepsakes; pieces of your family’s story to be held, displayed, and treasured long after this season has passed.

The Process

OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER

1.Book & Prepare

Once you have chosen your experience, your session date is secured with a $250 non-refundable booking fee and completed booking forms. From there I will be in touch to confirm all the details and answer any questions you may have, ensuring you feel supported and fully prepared ahead of your session so you can arrive and simply enjoy the moment.

2.the session

As your session approaches, I’ll be in touch to confirm final details, including timing and any weather considerations. On the day, your experience is calm, unhurried, and guided with care. The remaining balance is due seven days prior to your session, allowing you to arrive fully present and enjoy the moment.

3.Gallery Viewing & Selection

The most exciting part; your private online viewing gallery is delivered within 2–3 weeks of your session. You’ll be invited to select the images included in your collection, with the option to upgrade if you wish. Each image is then carefully refined in line with the Emberwood aesthetic.

4.Final Delivery

Once your selections are complete, your final images are lovingly prepared and delivered via digital download. Any printed artwork or keepsakes are ordered with care, and additional prints or products can be purchased; allowing you to create a collection that feels beautifully complete.

FAQ's

Where are you located?

Emberwood Photography is based in Oran Park, NSW, with a calm, thoughtfully styled home studio designed for newborn, sitter, and cake smash sessions. The studio is intentionally created to feel peaceful and welcoming, allowing timeless imagery to unfold with ease.

Family, maternity, couples, and engagement sessions are photographed outdoors across Camden, the Macarthur region, and Wollondilly, with locations chosen for their natural light and relaxed feel. Sitter and cake smash sessions may also take place outdoors where suitable, offering flexibility while maintaining a cohesive Emberwood aesthetic.

How do I book my session?

To book your session, simply get in touch via the contact form on my website. From there, I’ll personally guide you through availability, package options, and the next steps to ensure everything is thoughtfully planned.

If you’re still deciding or would like to chat through your ideas first, you’re always welcome to reach out via social media, text, or email; I’m more than happy to help you shape your vision. Once you’re ready to proceed, a signed booking form and retainer officially secure your session date.

Is travel included within your collections?

Travel within 15km of my home studio is included within my collections. For sessions held beyond this area, a travel fee may apply and will always be discussed with you prior to booking.

Can my collection be tailored to suit my needs?

Yes. Each Emberwood collection is thoughtfully designed, with the option to personalise elements to better suit your vision. From image upgrades to bespoke albums, fine art prints, and wall pieces, your experience can be tailored to reflect what matters most to you. Any customisations are discussed together to ensure your final collection feels intentional, seamless, and uniquely yours.

How long does it take to receive the final photos?

I understand how exciting it is to see your photographs. Your initial online selection gallery will be delivered within 2–3 weeks of your session. Once your selections are finalised, your fully edited images are typically delivered within 4 weeks of your session date. While I always aim to deliver sooner where possible, every image is finished with care and intention to ensure the highest quality.

Are cakes and props included in milestone or cake smash sessions?

For cake smash sessions, families are required to provide their own cake. This ensures full control over ingredients and supports the health and safety of your child, particularly where allergies or dietary requirements are a consideration.

A limited selection of props is included for milestone, sitter, and cake smash sessions. Where a specific prop or theme is requested, additional pieces may be sourced for an added fee. Themes, requirements, and any associated costs can be discussed in advance to ensure your session feels intentional and thoughtfully styled.

When is the best time to book a maternity session?

Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 28 and 36 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined and you’re still feeling comfortable enough to move with ease. Booking a few months in advance (preferably around the 12 week mark) is recommended to secure your preferred date, particularly if you’re hoping to align your session with a certain season, location, or time of day.

When is the best time to book a newborn session?

Newborn sessions are ideally booked during pregnancy to ensure availability. Sessions are typically held within the first two to three weeks after birth, when babies are still naturally sleepy and easily settled. Once your baby arrives, we’ll confirm a session date that works gently around you and your newborn, allowing flexibility for early or late arrivals.

Is a client wardrobe available for mums?

Yes. A thoughtfully curated client wardrobe is available for mums to use during maternity, newborn, and family sessions. The collection features soft, flattering pieces designed to photograph beautifully and complement the natural, timeless style of Emberwood. Access to the client wardrobe is included to help you feel comfortable, confident, and effortlessly styled.

What props and styling are used for newborn sessions?

Newborn sessions include access to a carefully curated collection of wraps, knitwear, blankets, and textures selected for their softness, safety, and timeless appeal. All pieces are chosen in neutral, calming tones to ensure the focus remains on your baby and the quiet details of these early days. Every item is cleaned and prepared with care between sessions for your baby’s comfort and safety.

What should we wear to our session?

Styling plays a beautiful role in creating timeless imagery, and I’m always happy to help guide you. I recommend soft, neutral tones and natural textures that complement one another without feeling overly styled. If you’re unsure, we can discuss outfit options together prior to your session, and I’m always available to offer personalised advice to help you feel comfortable, confident, and beautifully aligned with the Emberwood aesthetic.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

Newborn sessions are booked with flexibility around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we’ll confirm a session time that works gently around you and your newborn.

What if my baby or child doesn’t cooperate?

That’s completely okay. Every session at Emberwood is guided with patience and flexibility, allowing your child to settle into the experience naturally. Sessions are thoughtfully structured to work with little ones; embracing movement, curiosity, and those in-between moments that often become the most meaningful.

Rather than forcing poses, the focus is on gentle direction and authentic connection, using the time intentionally to capture genuine expressions in a calm and relaxed way. The goal is never perfection, but imagery that reflects your child and your family just as they are.

What if the weather isn’t suitable for my outdoor session?

Your experience and the quality of your images always comes first. If weather conditions aren’t ideal, such as heavy rain, strong winds, or extreme heat, we’ll work together to either reschedule your session or move it to an alternative setting where suitable. Sessions are never rushed or compromised, ensuring a relaxed experience and imagery that reflects the timeless Emberwood aesthetic.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. To secure your session, all bookings are finalised at least seven days prior, with a $250 non-refundable retainer required at the time of booking. The remaining balance can be paid via a flexible payment plan, allowing you to spread the investment in a way that feels comfortable and considered.

Payment plans can be arranged in the lead-up to your session, ensuring everything is settled ahead of time. Photography is an investment in your family’s story, and I’m always happy to work with you to make the process feel supportive and manageable.

Do you share my images online?

Selected images may be shared across my website, social media, and portfolio as part of showcasing my work and creative style. This is an important part of how Emberwood continues to grow and connect with future families.

If you would prefer your images to remain private, this can be discussed at the time of booking. Your comfort is always respected, and privacy options are available upon request.
